It does seem very suspicious. I don't believe a word they tell us and don't believe in scary, scary, viruses any longer either. A very thin, flee infested cat followed me home nearly two years ago. I planned to take him to the Humane Society but they were not taking anymore animals, so we've been happily stuck with one another ever since. The flees are gone and he's been fattened up. I did get him fixed but no vaccines. They tried to talk me into it but I gave them an excuse, so they dropped it. Where I live they want you to register your pets and show their yearly vac records, so I just didn't register him. So far, so good. I'm so sick of these MFers trying to control every aspect of our lives. Wished I lived in a cabin out in the woods.
Good for you! I was just talking about something similar with a friend who has a cat. He's never taken him to a vet, in fact. I, on the other hand, have two dogs. I would be unable to rent an apartment, take them to the groomer, or hire a sitter/daycare without proof of vaccination. And many vets refuse service if you don't have them up to date on certain shots or medications. It sucks. I feel like I'm being held hostage.
One of my dogs is incontinent (because of her spaying procedure). But my current vet wouldn't refill her meds because she was late on one of her shots. He also said she'd need an echocardiogram done before he could approve the medication. So what can I do? It's really messed up that we can't trust medical professionals or the science community when it comes to ourselves or our pets.
They are holding us hostage! There are holistic vets but good luck trying to find one (none where I live). Plus many still have one foot in Allopathic medicine anyway, which makes absolutely no sense to me. Luckily, my cat seems to think he's a dog.
Oh my gosh! Thank you for mentioning this. I hadn't even considered that there might be holistic vets out there. I'm unfortunately stuck paying the regular vet until the end of this year. However, one of my dogs is dealing with major arthritis issues (amongst other maladies) and I'm gonna see about taking her to a local holistic specialist that deals with mobility issues.
You could tell the writer so badly wanted to come to the conclusion that there is a mystery illness killing dogs.
"Of course, none of this skepticism rules out the possibility that there is a new pathogen starting to spread."
But good for the editor or whoever was calling the shots for forcing him to reign it in. Makes you wonder why NPR of all places would step out of line when everyone else seems to be going the panic route.
Thanks for the videos 🤣😹 hilarious. We have a beagle/hound that makes noises like the little chihuahua ... and we have a corgi funny because he doesn’t howl. Pets are the best therapy for everything 😆😉
