It's Time to Wake Up! 30+ Movies to Watch Now
Don't have time to read about pandemics, tyrannical governments, and stupid human beings? That's cool. Watch these movies instead.
Movies can make us laugh, cry, scream, feel nostalgic, or be so bored that we reach for our phones. There’s no doubt that movies are capable of making us feel something.
But do they also have the ability to help us think more deeply and critically about our world and our lives?
If you or people you know need some help with opening your eyes Clockwork Orange-style, oh boy do I have a list of movies for you. I will warn you, though, just as my reading list tends to heavily favor dystopian fiction, my movie list is just as dark.
Humans escape from a planet they destroyed, but can’t seem to leave their worst habits behind.
A strange disease causes the majority of people to lose their vision. You’d think this would humble some people out, but nah, that’s of course not going to happen.
Something has caused the birth rate to plummet. Despair and disillusionment lead people to do terrible things while a few refuse to give up.
Ummm… The similarities between the measures taken to stop our so-called pandemic and the one in this movie are strangely similar.
The three sea shells are pretty entertaining as is Rob Schneider. But the surveillance state, Taco Bell restaurants, and cybersex are not.
Dr. Strangelove Or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb
What happens when incompetent and reckless leaders have their hands hovered over the wrong button.
The elites escape to their own isolated and lavish city while the rest of Earth perishes. Globalism and transhumanism collide in this Neill Blomkampf film.
The government believes that the ends justify the means. Even if it requires exploitation and brainwashing of children.
AI is cool until it’s not. If you have your doubts about hip tech billionaires and smart tech, this movie will turn those doubts into dread.
Mass consumerism is making us lazy, complacent, and crazy. But I can’t say anymore because, you know, the rules.
Can we form meaningful relationships in the digital sphere? Or are they simply an unhealthy coping mechanism until we’re willing to return to the real world?
Even before COVID locked children out of schools and disrupted their education and socialization, the general intelligence of our population was declining. This movie will provide some levity to our current situation.
Invasion of the Body Snatchers
Every day, it feels as though something’s not right with people. Can humanity be restored or will we all become pod people?
Take the red pill, wake up to a horrifying reality, and free yourself… or take the blue pill, stick your head in the sand even deeper, and remain enslaved to the tech overlords.
There is no such thing as privacy or freedom anymore. Facial recognition and pre-crime technology remind us of this.
The difference between the haves and have-nots is on full display in this movie. If you ever entertained any illusions about the elites caring about you or us, think again.
We’ve all been through the mother of gaslighting episodes these last few years. Watch as Rosemary gets similar treatment from those around her.
I think a lot of people need a reminder of the evils we once fought against and why we need to wake up and do the same now before it’s too late.
It doesn’t matter what end of the train the leaders are on. They’re all in it together. Oh, and don’t eat the jelly bricks.
People spend all day sitting in a pod in a dark room, controlling their more attractive and athletic robot avatars that represent them in the real world. It’s basically our reality, except we use photo filters, plastic surgery, and outright lies to manage how people see us.
Even though Terminator 2 is a far superior and enjoyable movie, this one gets us into the transhumanism stuff. And it’s coming for all of us very soon.
Not a great movie, but it’s based on the real Stanford Prison Experiment. If you want to know why people turned on their neighbors so easily during COVID, this experiment provides the answer.
A hilarious movie about the elite class hunting down and killing “deplorables” without remorse.
We are in an abusive relationship full of gaslighting with our government. So too is Cecilia, the protagonist of this movie.
Crime remains legal for one night in this sequel to the original Purge. However, this one introduces us to the sick, satanic shit going on behind the scenes in our government. Oh, and Frank Grillo is a badass as always.
The propaganda blasted out to us on the news and social media isn’t this fun or interactive. Yet.
We are all Truman Burbank. It’s just that the vast majority of people don’t realize or don’t want to realize that our lives and decisions are controlled by a higher power.
V is the only chance the people of Britain have to be free from their tyrannical government. But the question we should be asking is, do they even want to be free?
And for those of you who love a good documentary…
I realize some of the claims in this movie have been called into question. But that doesn’t negate the rest. If you’re wondering why the death rate is rising and the birth rate is plummeting, this is a must watch.
Dennis Prager and Adam Carolla tackle the topics of free speech and censorship, especially as it relates to the educational sphere. Watch this and the Jordan Peterson doc together.
Peterson challenged the idea that he had to respect his students’ preferred pronouns and brought to light just some of the insanity going on in education and government.
Matt Walsh travels around the world trying to find out what the word “woman” means. The number of people who can’t define it or are unwilling to answer such a hostile question will astound you (or maybe it won’t if you’ve been paying attention).
What are your thoughts on this list? Is there anything I missed that you think others should watch? And what’s the overall lesson we should take away from the film?
