Anyone else see that Twitter has been replaced by X Corp?
If you don’t know why that’s so troublesome, read this post:
My predictions were a bit off. I thought he’d build X.com separately. But we’re more or less on track to Twitter becoming a globally accepted WeChat-style “everything” app (i.e. digital ID and surveillance system).
This is just the start.
I don’t know if Musk will go so far as to rebrand the Twitter app as “X”, but he’s certainly got plans to rework its features. Note his recent meltdown over Substack and the false claims he made about the company stealing data.
Things are gonna move quickly now. He’s done with the Twitter Files reality show, so he’s got plenty of time and energy to invest in adding all sorts of fun and invasive features to Twitter. And towards shadowbanning users. And blocking content from Substack. And all the good stuff that’s been going on that people don’t want to acknowledge.
If you haven’t started to extricate yourself from Twitter’s grip yet, now is a good day to start.
