You Haven’t Gotten Over It Yet?

No, I haven't. Nor should you. When we forget or ignore the lessons of the past, we are doomed to repeat them again.

I have a strict no-dating-anyone-who-got-the-vaxx policy. When I encountered one of these vaxxed-up gentlemen, often what I hear is this question:

“You haven’t gotten over it yet?”.

Uh, no. My business was crushed. My savings wiped out. My friendships decimated. And I was treated like a leper by my personal, local, and dating community for years because I wouldn’t mask or vaxx.

So when I choose to let anyone into my life now, I want to be sure they won’t crumble under the next “disaster” the government gins up. That’s fair, right?
